Client: Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life, Tufts University
Technologies: Drupal 8
Project Role: Project Lead, Web Developer
Background:
Tisch College needed a way to bring together the news, research, and resources for the upcoming 2020 election to the Tufts community. As project lead on the Digital Services team, I worked with the Tisch team to gather the requirements for the site, create an IA & content map, and develop the site using Tuft's Drupal 8 web standard framework. The resulting site was successfully launched and well-received by the students, faculty, and other members of the Tufts community.
Process:
As part of the discovery process, we gathered user requirements by talking with the Tisch team to learn what was needed for the Tufts Vote site. It was important that students and other members of the Tufts community were aware of the different ways in which they could vote in the upcoming election, especially during the pandemic. The site would serve as a hub where Tufts members could find links to tools to help them cast their vote and stay updated on the latest political news and events. From our research, we identified the main content that needed to be on the site- how to register to vote, voting information for students, and election news and events.
